Maapalloa kiertävässä kuussa ihminen on jo käynyt, ja olosuhteet aurinkokunnan planeetoilla tunnetaan. Mars on aurinkokunnan ainoa planeetta, jolle ehkä voidaan aloittaa ihmiselle soveltuvan infrastruktuurin rakentaminen tekoälyn ohjaamilla roboteilla. Maapallon kaltaisen paratiisin rakentamiselle Marsin ohut, myrkyllinen ilmakehä ja jäätävät olosuhteet asettavat kuitenkin pysyvän esteen.

Supervauraat valtakeskittymät voimistuvat ja pystyvät halutessaan rakentamaan tukikohtia myös kuuhun ja myöhemmin ehkä muillekin aurinkokunnan kiertolaisille.

However, the thin toxic atmosphere and freezing conditions pose a permanent obstacle to building an Earth-like paradise.
When humans finally, after their nearly year-long space journey get to examinate the structures made by their robots on Mars, they may be in such poor condition that only a few of them will be able to do anything - under the gentle guidance of robot doctors, of course.
